Getting Married at Grand Hotel Tremezzo
Lake Como is one of those places that totally lives up to the reputation.
The first time I visited, I instantly understood why people fall in love with it. The light seems softer here, the pace a little slower, and everywhere you look there is another beautiful villa, garden or view across the water. It’s elegant, but not in an overwhelming kind way. It’s all dusted with history and this special kind of charm, that you can only find there.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo is all that and more. Overlooking the water towards Bellagio, it has been welcoming guests for more than a century, yet somehow still feels relaxed and inviting. There is always a sense of life around it: boats arriving at the dock, guests gathering for aperitivo, long dinners that stretch into warm Italian evenings. It’s a definition of slow luxury and to not make it too serious, it does have a little bit of Wes Anderson vibe. I love it there!
As a photographer, I am constantly drawn to places with a distinct atmosphere, and Lake Como has that in abundance. The beauty of the landscape is undeniable, but it is the way people experience it that stays with me. Morning swims, boat rides across the lake, cocktails on the terrace, slow, meaningful conversations that continue long after sunset.
The best Lake Como weddings feel less like events and more like a wonderful few days spent with the people you love most, surrounded by delicious beauty.
