ABOUT
MARTA ILARDO

Marta Ilardo is an internationally recognised photographer whose work is shaped by a lifelong love
for art, cinema, fashion and visual culture.

Based in London, she studied Fine Arts before completing her MA in Photography. She then spent several years in commercial studios creating imagery for artists, designers and fashion brands - a foundation that continues to inform her refined, editorial approach.

Today, her practice centres on people and the moments they share. The grand gestures, the quiet pauses, the beautiful absurdities that often go unnoticed. Her photographs are guided as much by observation as by intuition: an instinct for recognising what matters and a sensitivity to how memories are formed.

Working across digital, 35mm and medium format film, Marta balances technical precision with curiosity, creating images that feel cinematic yet deeply human. While weddings provide the setting, her real interest lies in the people themselves, their relationships, rituals, gestures and the subtle details that reveal something true. Every photograph is filtered through an artist's eye, shaped by light, composition and emotion rather than trends.

Her clients are often drawn to art, design, architecture, fashion and travel. They appreciate authenticity over performance and value photography that feels thoughtful, elegant and enduring rather than formulaic.

Influenced by filmmakers such as Jane Campion, Paolo Sorrentino and Paul Thomas Anderson, alongside artists including Georgia O'Keeffe and Wolfgang Tillmans, Marta's work sits at the intersection of documentary, editorial and fine art photography.

mentorship

Alongside her commissioned work, Marta also mentors photographers who want to develop a more personal visual language. Rather than focusing solely on camera settings or business strategy, her mentoring explores the art of seeing - helping photographers refine their taste, strengthen their creative voice and build work that feels honest, intentional and unmistakably their own.
